Henri Scars Struck
The sound is played at the transitional portal at Al Sondos Suites identifies different periods of the day and is composed by Henri Scars Struck. The entire experience will RESET your mind.

French music composer and producer Henri Scars Struck has spent his life assembling sounds, rhythms, and melodies with a simple goal: To make people stop and listen. "People forget how important music is. People have lost the time to listen to a song all the way to the end," Struck says. "Nowadays, there is less concentration on appreciating a piece of music because of the lack of time and the iPod generation." To accomplish his goal, Struck has developed a body of work that is diverse and global-echoing Jazz, Hip Hop, Electronica, Classical, Rhythm and Blues and World music.

Joan Fontcuberta
The Artwork at the transitional portal at Al Sondos Suites is designed by Joan Fontcuberta. The artwork at the portal will allow you to transit from the outside world to the worl of Le Méridien.

Photographer Joan Fontcuberta remembers his first camera. Twelve years old at the time, he realized the "extraordinary possibilities" of this tool. At first, the camera was a device for documenting the world, for assembling visual evidence of a shared physical and temporal reality. But as Fontcuberta spent more time in the darkroom, seeing the magic of images develop, he came to find with photography a powerful possibility-a means of self expression and aesthetic experimentation. Today he sees photography as "a tool to interact with the world."

Fabrice Penot + Eddie Roschi
The scent used in Al Sondos Suites is structured around cedar and surrounded by iris, frankincense and musk. It has been crafted by Fabrice Penot and Eddie Roschi.

Fabrice Penot and Eddie Roschi met while working on a marketing campaign for a "mass-tige," globally recognized fragrance. They both realized that perfumes had become commodities: stale, fungible, and common. With a shared vision for a line of scents that would instead be fresh, personalized, and refined, they launched their company, Le Labo, which has expanded its storefronts beyond New York City to Tokyo, Los Angeles, and soon London.

Michael Lin
The UNLOCK ART, the designer keycards at Al Sondos Suites, symbolizes access to a contemporary cultural experience. Designed by Michael Lin,  these cards can also be used to access an experience at the XVA Gallery located at Bastakia, Bur Dubai.

Many years ago, as political protest and dissent shook his native Taiwan, artist Michael Lin made a conscious decision to turn inward for inspiration. The vicissitudes of domestic life-rather than the political currents shaping the public sphere-gave way to what have become Lin's signature flower motifs. Using the patterns and shapes on four traditional pillows as aesthetic touchstones, Lin created his first floralscapes have become a signature motif of his work. Those floral motifs-highly attuned to Taiwanese visual language-have ironically proved to be some of the most politically and culturally resonant of Lin's work.

Jean-Georges Vongerichten
At Newscafe, enjoy the "Jean-Georges Signature Breakfast" that offers innovative reinterpretation of traditional international breakfast favorites.

Chef restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten has built a culinary empire by underscoring local and seasonal ingredients in an array of restaurants and settings that span the globe. There's a time and place for any ingredient. "I would never cook a chestnut in the summertime, or strawberries for Christmas," Vongerichten says. At the same time, as a New York City-based chef who grew up in Austria, spent years cooking in Asia, and still travels endlessly, his food celebrates the cosmopolitan palette. "I can't live without ginger, I can't live without cheese, I can't live without lemongrass. That's all part of my pantry."

Andrea Illy
For Andrea Illy, a cup of espresso is not a beverage. It's a creative way of life. "It's a total experience. And it's poly-sensual. It involves the sight, the smell, the taste, the touch. Everything," Illy says. As Chairman of illycaffè, the international coffee company, he sees himself as more than a businessman. He's a chemist, a philosopher, an innovator.
